Committee

The FAS Committee has ultimate responsibility for the affairs of the society. It meets monthly to take major strategic and financial decisions and to oversee the work of its officers.

The Committee

Qi Tian, President

Qi is responsible for the overall management of the society. He chairs the Committee, develops the society’s long-term goals and strategies, works with all officers to ensure they carry out their tasks, and is in charge of strategic, reputational, and operational risk management. Qi serves on the Subcommittees on the Academic Conference, Foreign Affairs Review, This Week in Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador’s Ball.

Abdeslam Salam Akmouci, Vice President (Finance)

Salam is responsible for society finances. He maintains records of all transactions, approves along with the President most society expenditures, prepares regular reports on the society’s finances, and is in charge of the society’s financial risk management. Salam serves on the Subcommittee on the Academic Conference and the Ambassador’s Ball.

Matti Littunen, Marketing Officer

Matti has the primary responsibility for marketing society events and activities. He is in charge of updating and maintaining the society’s online platforms in addition to being in charge of coordinating, producing and distributing publicity for society events.

Vivien Mao, Conference Coordinator

Vivien has primary responsibility for the annual academic conference. She chairs the Subcommittee on the Academic Conferences and oversees all aspects of the planning and operations of SAFAC 2014.

Radim Dragomaca,  Editor-in-Chief of the Foreign Affairs Review

Radim has primary responsibility for the St Andrews Foreign Affairs Review. He manages a staff of editors and writers to produce articles for the online Review and its monthly digest and oversees all aspects of production.

Matthew Valla, Radio Coordinator

Matthew has primary responsibility for the society’s weekly radio show on St Andrews Radio, This Week in Foreign Affairs. He leads the Subcommittee on This Week in Foreign Affairs and helps devise topics and secure guest appearances.

Amisha Vadalia, Social Activities Officer

Amisha has primary responsibility for planning a series of social events and activities for the society. She chairs the Subcommittee on the Ambassador’s Ball and oversees all aspect of the planning and operations of the event.
